With over 35 years of experience in agricultural training, we continue to have a positive impact on the lives of students, emerging farmers and farm workers in southern Africa.
BASA Achievements
- 2019 – 2021 Training of 280 farmers and 600 farm workers under the Sernick Farmer’s Development Project to the Jobs Fund.
- 2021 – 2022 i3A BASA enter into a special collaboration agreement towards the establishment of the Agri-Enterprises Agricultural Academy and in partnership with the AgriSETA we completed the biggest national impact-driven mentorship and research programme, including 251 small-scale beef cattle enterprises. This programme also resulted in the registration of 74 legal entities in which farmer groups are organised, with a unique Agrisocial communication application to sustain communication and further our services to the beneficiaries of the project.
- 2022 A special collaboration agreement was signed with MSD Animal Health towards the launch of the MSD Animal Health Academy, to be powered by i3A / BASA and Agri-pedia in providing Animal Health Qualifications with a specialisation in Bovine Health and Biosecurity.

Antonie Geyer

Dr Antonie is a senior and well-known agricultural economist with almost 40-years of experience in the commercial agricultural academic and industry environment. Besides Curriculum Development towards industry-based qualifications, he also specialises in agrarian data warehousing, analysing production data and economic advisory services.
Dr Andre Van Wyk
HOD: RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
B SC (HONS) (ZOOLOGY), HED (HIGHER EDUCATION DIPLOMA), B ED, M ED, PH D
André holds a PhD in Curriculum Development with a specialisation in Life Sciences and microbiology. He has extensive experience in teaching at secondary and tertial levels, both nationally and internationally. Andre is responsible for research, developing new qualifications, content development of academic literature, designing assessment criteria, specific outcomes and memorandums, and curriculum fulfilment.
Johann Stassen
Director: Academics
An Agricultural Economist and commercial farmer with more than 30 years’ experience in agricultural training and development. Johann spearheaded Agri-pedia – i3A’s e-learning system.
John Ntlhokoa

John is an experienced Practitioner with 18 years post-graduate experience in the Facilitation and Assessment of various Agricultural Learnerships and Skills Programmes. John is responsible for training support by coordinating facilitators and venues.
Michané Van Der Walt

B SC. GENETICS AND PHYSIOLOGY
Michané is a cum-laude graduate in B.Sc. Genetics and Physiology. As a dynamic and driven young head of the training department, she is specialising in the development of Learner Management Systems. Michané is responsible for student administration, finance, student liaison, moderation, and ETQA admin.
Moseki Molebatsi
MANAGER: QMS & ASSESSMENT
B AGRIC
National Certificate in Media Consultancy, B Agric in Game & Wildlife Management, enrolled in B Agric Honors, with experience in Training Administration. Moseki is responsible for the Quality Management System (QMS) which involves assessments, moderation, qualification conformation, certification, close-out reports to E-Learning Department, training reports, POE archives, student feedback and managing academic support.
